WHA Agency Plan

The Wilmington Housing Authority is in the process of developing its Annual Plan submittal for FY2008. The Annual plan provides details about the Wilmington Housing Authority's current programs and the resident population served, as well as the Authority's strategy for addressing the housing needs of currently assisted families and the larger community.

Welcome to Wilmington Housing Authority

The Wilmington Housing Authority is a leader in providing affordable housing to low and moderate income families.
Some of the amenities that are available are beautiful tree lined streets, playgrounds, computer classes, GED classes, basketball courts, children’s activities, resident organizations, homeownership opportunities, and much more!

Through our Section 8 program, you can choose where you want to live. Through our public housing program, you will be able to pay rent based on 30% of your annual income, minus many deductibles, such as children and some medical expenses.

WHA is very progressive towards making living conditions the best they can. Recent purchases of several apartment complexes
in Wilmington are good indicators of things to come. The projected demolition of Taylor Homes, the oldest public housing
complex in North Carolina, will be just the beginning of a new and brighter future in housing.

We thank you for visiting our home page. If you have questions that aren’t answered on our site, please feel free to call our Central Office at (910) 341-7700 and our very capable staff will be glad to be of assistance.

We invite you to tour our properties or visit with us when you’re in Wilmington.
