Jervay House
HEO, Inc. was awarded funding in July, 2009 by North Carolina Housing Finance Agency for the construction of this Housing 400 Initiative property. Jervay House will consist of eight one-bedroom unit apartments located at 920 Thomas C. Jervay Loop and is a part of the larger Robert S. Jervay neighborhood. These rental units are designed for tenants with disabilities whose income is at or below 30% of the area median income and who are only receiving a disability income (SSI, SSDI, VA). Community laundry facilities and individual parking is available to the residents. Construction is scheduled to start in January, 2010 and be complete by July, 2010.
New Brooklyn Homes at Robert R. Taylor Estates
New Brooklyn Homes is a project currently in the beginning stages. This proposed development will consist of 48 public housing units and will be located at the western portion of the Taylor Estates community at the corner of 4th and Nixon Streets in downtown Wilmington.
An application for funding was awarded in August 2009 and construction is estimated to start in early 2010.
