The goal of the Resident Services Department is to create an environment fostered toward assisting families in becoming economically self-sufficient.
The Family Self-Sufficiency program is designed to help families become independent by creating a family plan for the future. The overall mission of the Family Self Sufficiency program is to provide participating families the tools needed to strive toward self sufficiency. These opportunities include obtaining training, education, employment and supportive services necessary to increase their earned income, to relinquish welfare assistance and to achieve economic self sufficiency.
Available community resources are accessed to help families achieve their goals. The Authority through local community partnerships provide GED Classes, Career Pathway Academy which is a job skills training program, Tutorial & Reading Programs, Adult Computer Classes, Arts & Crafts, College preparatory classes and a variety of after school programs.
